Workplace Safety, the Constitution and the Courts

 The prominent roles of the nation's courts has been a central theme, for better or worse., in the evolution of occupational safety and health in the United States

 
The OSHA Act spurred the coming of age of the safety and health profession.  It also had the perhaps more dubious distinction of nurturing a generation of "OSHA lawyers" and a "culture of litigation" that continues to this day to impede the advancement of safety and health in the United States.
