EPA Announces New Online RMP Submission Method

In a Federal Register notice published April 15, EPA announced that a new RMP submission method, called RMP*eSubmit, should be used by facilities submitting their RMPs electronically  beginning March 13, 2009. The new submission method will be On-line via EPA’s secure Web site.  The new submission method is applicable to owners and operators of stationary sources subject to EPA’s Chemical Accident Prevention regulations. These regulations require covered entitites to submit RMPs on their processes in a method and format specified by EPA.

New WHO Guidance on the European Framework for Psychosocial Risk Management

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently published Guidance on the European Framework for Psychosocial Risk Management, A resource for employers and worker representatives.  The document is the ninth in a series of occupational health documents entitled: Protecting Workers' Health published by the WHO within the Programme of Occupational Health.

EU Commission Adopts Nanotech Research Guidelines

The European Commission has formally adopted a non-binding code of conduct for nanotechnology and nanosciences (N&N) that includes the precautionary principle, calling on European Union member states to use the guidelines as the basis for nanotechnology research oversight.

The EU code of conduct, adopted February 8, 2008 is based on seven principles covering issues such as precaution, sustainability, and accountability, and is designed to apply to universities, research institutes and companies, the Commission said in a statement.
